Blanchard Exchange projects include a language setting that determines the default language for users and controls date and time formats. This language setting is automatically selected based on the language of the course. For example, if you are using a French course, the project language is set to French by default.
In some cases, Blanchard Exchange offers more than one version of a language that includes a country designation. For example, Blanchard Exchange includes both English (United States) and English (United Kingdom) language settings (along with many others). The primary differences between these language options relate to how date and time formats are displayed to learners, such as:
12-hour (AM/PM) versus 24-hour time displays
The order in which day, month, and year are presented
Notation differences in how dates and times are formatted
To set or change the default format, go to your project’s Settings tab and select the appropriate option from the Language drop-down menu.
To preview how a specific language or country setting affects these details, select a language using the steps above, then select the Preview button that appears near the top of the project page.
