Blanchard Exchange projects include a language setting which sets the default language for users and also controls the date/time formats. This language setting is selected by default based on the language set on the course. For example, if you are using a French course, the project language is set to French automatically.
In some cases, Blanchard Exchange includes more than one version of a language that will include a country designation. For example, Blanchard Exchange has both "English (United States)" and "English (United Kingdom)" language settings (plus many others). The difference between these language settings is in how date/time formats are presented to learners, such as:
- 12-hour (AM/PM) vs. 24-hour display
- The order in which the day/month/year are presented
- Notation differences in how dates/times are listed
In order to set the default format, go to your projects Settings tab, followed by selecting the Language drop-down menu.
To view how a particular language/country affects these details, select a language using the steps above, and then select the Preview button that appears towards the top of a project.
