If the numbering structure has been corrupted, it will need to be rebuilt. Rebuilding that numbering structure is a complex process, so you might want to make a copy of the original file included with your facilitation materials to make your edits. If you prefer to rebuild the numbering structure, follow these steps:

- Right-click the Activity/Slide style in the “Styles” palette and select “Modify.”
- Locate the “Format” drop-down menu at the bottom portion of the “Modify Style” palette and select “Numbering….” (Figure 1)
- This brings up the “Bullets and Numbering” palette. The “Outline Numbered” tab should be highlighted (Figure 2).
- Select “Customize” at the bottom of the palette to bring up the “Customize Outline Numbered List” palette.
- The “Customize Outline Numbered List” palette is where you will make all of the edits to rebuild the automatic numbering hierarchy.
Note: You will likely have to click the drop-down arrow near the bottom of the palette to display the last four fields that need to be edited (Figure 3). - Check all seven levels, starting with Level 1 (as seen in the level styles below). If any of the fields don’t match the information shown below for each level/style, change them to match the information shown below.
