Today’s release brings Segments, a powerful new feature, to Blanchard Exchange. Additionally, we have introduced a brand-new project-level report that displays detailed progress. See below for more information.
Segments is a brand-new feature allowing course builders and administrators to separate groups of learners into digital table groups. Segments allows Blanchard Exchange to serve up unique activities, assignments, and live events to these smaller groups while providing the same overall course experience to a project’s roster.
For example, a segmented activity can be created within a course that provides four distinct assignments. All learners in the project would complete the same assignments and core activities, but their segmented assignment would be unique to one of the four segmented assignments in the course.
This feature can be used to provide unique live events to subsets of learners while offering live events in other portions of the course that are applicable to all learners in the project. Do you want to divide a roster into smaller groups for peer networking, including the ability to send calendar invitations that are unique to each group? Segments makes this possible and allows administrators to manage the groups in the same project.
If your course includes segments, see our tutorial on assigning segmented activities to learners. If you’re looking to create new segmented activities through the course builder, see this tutorial instead.
Detailed Project Status Report
A new project status report is now available that will show all individual assignment completions.
Previously, the primary group report was the Project Status report, which would show only activity (page) completions. If an activity housed five assignments, the only way to retrieve detailed completion on them was to review each learner’s status under the Participants tab of a project and review/expand their details individually.
This new report will provide the same level of detail at a group level; it is also exportable in an XLXS format. This report can be found under each project’s Reports tab.
