The basic steps for adding Learners and Administrators are covered in the Set up a Project video tutorial. Additional details are provided below. If you are already familiar with these steps, review the instructions and related article below for adding Trainers (applicable if you plan to grant internal trainers access to Blanchard Exchange project information). |
Blanchard Exchange supports three user types: Learners, Trainers, and Administrators.
Learners
Learners are end users who access content and courses through Blanchard Exchange. These individuals are added to projects and may also be referred to as Participants. Credits are typically required to add or enroll Learners in content.
For instructions, see the How to Add or Edit Learners article.
Trainers
Trainers can be granted access to Blanchard Exchange to view project and user information. Trainers cannot edit data. They access a mobile-optimized Trainer Portal designed for viewing project details.
Trainer Access Options
You can configure Trainer access in one of the following ways:
Option 1: Project Trainers
Trainers are invited to specific projects and can view only those projects.
Pros:
Live events for assigned projects appear on the Trainer Portal By Session view.
Cons:
Trainers must be added individually to each project.
Option 2: Account-Level Trainers
Trainers are granted access at the account level and can view all projects.
Pros:
One-time setup provides access to all projects.
Cons:
Live events do not appear on the Trainer Portal By Session view. Trainers must use search or the By Company navigation to locate projects.
Combined Option
You may use both options together to provide full project visibility and live event access. This approach requires additional administrative setup.
For instructions on inviting Project Trainers, see the Adding Project Team Members article.
To add Trainers at the account level, follow the instructions for adding administrators and assign the Account Trainer role during the invitation process.
Administrators
Administrators manage projects, upload Learners, send communications, and modify courses. They have full access to account and project data within Blanchard Exchange.
The term Administrator may also include additional roles with account-level access, such as:
Read Only – View-only access to project information, course templates, and email templates
Account Trainer – Trainer access at the account level
For instructions, see the How to Add or Edit Administrators article.
